Terms of Service
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using cooked.run, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old, or at least 13 with verifiable parental consent where required by law. You must provide accurate registration information and keep your account secure.
3. Service description
cooked.run is a location-based travel community where travelers ask questions and locals or experienced visitors provide help. Features may include GPS check-ins, footprints (travel tips), Q&A, credits, titles/reputation, translations, public profiles, creator banners, and user-generated content. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
4. Account & authentication
Sign-in is provided through Google OAuth. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law. You may delete your account in the app under Support; deletion is irreversible once completed.
5. User content & license
You retain ownership of content you post (questions, answers, photos, footprints, comments, profile text, and similar). You grant COOKED a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, translate, and distribute your content solely to operate, improve, and promote the service. You represent that you have the rights to post your content and that it does not infringe others’ rights. We may moderate, hide, or remove content that violates these Terms or community rules.
6. Prohibited conduct
- Illegal, harassing, discriminatory, sexually explicit, violent, or deceptive content or behavior
- Impersonation, spam, scraping, reverse engineering, or unauthorized access
- Sharing another person’s precise private location without consent
- Manipulating GPS certifications, credits, titles, or reputation systems
7. Credits, titles & virtual items
Credits, titles, and related virtual items have no cash value, are non-transferable except as expressly allowed in the app, and may expire or change according to in-app rules. Purchases, where available, are final except where required by law.
8. Location data
Some features use device location for check-ins and area features. Exact coordinates are not shown publicly to other users unless you choose to share location-related content. See the Privacy Policy for details.
9. Third-party services
The service integrates third parties such as Google (sign-in), Supabase (database/auth), Vercel (hosting/analytics), Google Gemini (translation), and Amazon Web Services S3 (photo storage). Their terms also apply to your use of those services.
10. Disclaimer
Content from users is not professional advice (legal, medical, immigration, safety, etc.). Use your own judgment. The service is provided “as is” without warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, COOKED is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for user content or third-party actions. Our aggregate liability shall not exceed the greater of USD 100 or amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify COOKED against claims arising from your content or misuse of the service, except where prohibited by law.
13. Termination & account deletion
You may stop using the service or delete your account at any time via Support → Delete account. We may suspend or terminate access for violations. Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect. After deletion, personal data is removed or anonymized as described in the Privacy Policy, subject to legal retention exceptions.
14. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise. Courts in Seoul, Korea shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction unless local law grants you mandatory venue rights.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email where appropriate. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance unless withdrawal is required by law.
