Namhae Mijo Port North Breakwater, catching Opaleye in shallow water

Namhae Mijo Port North Breakwater, catching Opaleye in shallow water

This is a float fishing spot at the North Breakwater of Mijo Port in Namhae, targeting Opaleye (Benge-dom) in shallow water. It is fun to watch the fish rise to the surface in response to chum near the inner harbor stone structures, rafts, and ropes. The address linked to the map is the entry point mentioned in the video, not the breakwater itself. The actual fishing spot requires walking past the rocky shore. 🎣 Catch In a mid-May trip, about 20 Opaleye were caught in the morning. They were mostly around 24-25cm, with the largest estimated at 26-27cm. At night, small rockfish and 10cm-class black rockfish were caught. These are results from the time of the video and do not reflect current conditions. 🪝 Rig and Strategy Bread crumb chum and bread/dough bait were used. Started at a depth of 2m, but as fish rose, it was adjusted to 50cm using foam floats and casting floats. In the afternoon, a floating dango rig at 2-3m depth was used according to the current. When there are no bites, check the active layer first rather than just fishing deeper. 📌 Check before visiting There is a scene where the low entry path is submerged at high tide. The nearest restroom is the Mijo North Port public restroom. A 'No Fishing' sign appears in the video. The creator mentioned it was allowed after checking with the county office at the time, but current permission status is unverified. Please check with local authorities and on-site signs for accessible and legal fishing areas. Reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nion1WtiBt8
